C is for...Chandler's Crabhouse

Lindsay and I met up Chandler's for the 3 for $30 going on in Seattle which is 3 courses at restaurants known for their great food for the low price of $30. Be sure to check it out next time this rolls around - Dine around Seattle.
As we were happy to only have to spend $30 for a 3 course meal we opted for a bottle of wine to enjoy with our meal. Our waiter recommended a couple bottles and even brought over a sample for Lindsay to taste to ensure we liked it. The bottle was called APEX and was a lovely wine to kick off spring as it was a light white blend. Tasty, crisp, and delicious!
Let's talk about food:
- Appetizer: Whiskey Crab Soup
- Entree: Grilled King Salmon & Seared Alaskan Weathervane Scallops
- Dessert: Chocolate Lava Cake

Must have the Whiskey crab soup if you are trying out Chandler's for the first time.
Service: 3
Everything was great until the waiter brought the bill before we had even finished out wine - felt like we were being pushed out the door.
Atmosphere: 5
Wow, the view of South Lake Union is amazing. Would love to see this place in the summer time!
Price: 4
2 appetizers, entrees, desserts, and bottle of wine - $52.50 each (3 for $30 definitely helped out)

Try out during the summer time, I know we will be back to sit and have some wine on the patio. I am not sure on their happy hour, or if they have one but this would be a great way to try their food, wine, and enjoy the view.

Cuisine: Seafood/Steakhouse

Stay tuned for D coming soon!

B is for Betty!!

Food: 4
Service: 3.5
Atmosphere: 3
Price: $74 for 2
Recommended: Yes, but not likely a place either of us would go often
Cuisine: American

Betty...an upscale, American cuisine restaurant with fancy presentation. For our appetizer, we ordered glazed prawns over a jicama and cucumber salad which was refreshing, light and tasty (although a bit pricey, at $12). The entree selections were limited (i.e. one chicken dish, one pasta dish, one lamb dish, one burger, etc) with a total of 7 entrees to choose from. The average price was around $18, which is a bit expensive even though the food certainly did not disappoint. Because of the limited selection, we both got the Pan Roasted Chicken, served over mashed potatoes for $17...to die for.

Great wine (Malbec for Christen, Sauv Blanc for Lindsay), nice atmosphere, good service. We both decided that while the food was delicious, we could likely find a comparable restaurant at a lower price point. Happy hour might be perfect at Betty.

A is for...Amazing Thai Cuisine

Food: 4
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 2
Price: $28 for two of us
Recommended: Yes
Cuisine: Thai
Although a hole in the wall found in the U-district it's a bit of a diamond in the rough! This place had great & friendly service and the food was delicious. The feast included jasmine tea, egg rolls, green curry with chicken, and phad khi-mao with chicken. My favorite was the phad khi-mao, bursting with flavor! Wouldn't go for a weekend meal (unless lunch) as there is no wine list to be seen. The grand total was $28! Highly recommended!
(Better photos to come...we remembered to take the pics clearly after we ate!)
Rating Scale:
1: "Are you kidding me?
2: "Good but not recommended"
3: "Meets expectation"
4: "Wow, delish!"
5: "What a steal, you are silly to miss out on this place!"

Welcome to Seattle's Alphabet Soup!

Welcome to our blog where you will join us on a journey of cuisine through
Seattle! Our blog will be updated every couple of weeks with a new restaurant
review. This is where it gets interesting... We will be choosing our restaurants
based of the alphabet, starting with A, then B, C...you get the point until we
reach Z. The place has to start with the corresponding letter and the place has
to be new to us (never have dined there). We will be choosing an array of
places from hole in the wall to the cream of the crop updating this blog with a
quick review of our thoughts with a couple photos. We hope you enjoy our food
adventure - we know we will!
